Note Titles

Titles play a vital role in organizing your notes effectively.

Tips for Writing Effective Titles:

  • Be Descriptive and Specific: Use titles that clearly indicate the content of the note. Avoid generic titles.

  • Include Key Names and Concepts: Mention the names of important characters, places, events, or concepts discussed in the note.

  • Use a Consistent Format: Develop a consistent style for your titles. This will make your project easier to navigate. For example:

    • Character Name (Character Role) - Aspect: David (Protagonist) - Backstory

    • Scene Name - Scene Description: Coffee Shop Meeting - David and Sarah discuss the plan

    • Theme: Theme Name: Theme: Loss and Redemption

    • Plot Point - Description: Act 1 Turning Point - The Discovery

  • Keep it Concise (But Not Too Short): Aim for a balance between being descriptive and being concise. A title should be long enough to be informative but short enough to be easily scanned.

  • Differentiate: Ensure that your title helps you differentiate from other similar notes.

Good vs. Less Helpful Titles:

Specifies the location and the characters involved.

Plot

Act 1 Turning Point - The Discovery

Clearly indicates the point in the plot structure and a brief description.

Notes

Much more descriptive, indicating the specific topic of the research.

Meeting

Initial Meeting with Mentor - Scene Outline

Specifies who is in the meeting, and its notes are about the scene.
